Ahold Czech Republic : ウィキペディア英語版 | Ahold Czech Republic
Ahold Czech Republic, a. s. (a. s. standing for "akciová společnost" – equivalent of joint stock company) is a division of the Netherlands-based Ahold company, operating in the Czech republic. They are responsible for running the supermarket chain Albert and the hypermarket Hypernova, totalling about 300 locations. In 2005, they took over 56 outlets of the Austrian-based Julius Meinl supermarket, which left the Czech market, and subsequently remodelled them to their Albert brand. In 2009, the company started to slowly drop the Hypernova brand, re-branding all hypermarket operations to the name Albert Hypermarket. In March 2014 Ahold Czech Republic a.s. acquired 50 stores from Spar, 36 hypermarkets and 14 supermarkets for 5.25 billion Czech Crowns (€191.000.000). With this move Albert is now the biggest supermarket chain in Czech Republic, totaling 330 outlets. ==References==
